Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Plumbingo collects, uses and shares personal data when you request plumbing, heating or bathroom quotes through our website.

Last Updated: 10 May 2026

Plumbingo is a quote-request and lead-generation platform. We act as an intermediary between customers and relevant plumbing professionals. This means we may share your quote request details with selected plumbers, heating engineers or contractors so they can provide quotes, contact you, arrange visits or deliver services.

1. Who we are

Plumbingo is a trading name of Bath Fitters LTD. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Bath Fitters LTD is normally the controller of personal data submitted through this website until it is shared with a relevant plumbing professional. The professional who receives your details may then act as an independent controller for their own communications, quotes and services.

Contact: hello@plumbingo.uk

2. What data we collect

When you submit a quote request, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, postcode and service address.
  • The type of plumbing, heating or bathroom work requested.
  • Your message or job description.
  • Photos or files you choose to upload.
  • Your privacy acknowledgement and marketing preference.
  • Technical information such as IP address, submission time and security/rate-limit records.

We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal data. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in your message or uploaded photos.

3. How we collect data

We collect data directly from you when you complete the quote form, upload photos, email us or otherwise contact us. We also collect limited technical data automatically for website security, spam prevention, form protection and basic operation.

4. Lawful basis for processing

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Pre-contract steps: to respond to your quote request and help arrange quotes or services.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate a practical lead-generation service, prevent spam, protect the website and manage contractor relationships.
  • Consent: for optional marketing communications and non-essential cookies where used.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep records for tax, accounting, legal claims or regulatory reasons.

5. How quote requests work

When you submit a quote request, we review the information and may contact you ourselves or pass your details to relevant plumbing professionals. The purpose is to help provide quotes, check availability, arrange site visits and deliver requested services.

Submitting a quote request does not guarantee that a contractor is available, that a quote will be provided, or that work will be accepted. Any quote, appointment or contract for work may be handled by the relevant professional directly.

6. Sharing data with vetted plumbers and contractors

We may share your name, contact details, postcode, service address, job description and uploaded file references with selected plumbers, heating engineers, bathroom fitters or other contractors where relevant to your request. We aim to share only the information reasonably needed for the quote or service.

Contractors are expected to use your information only for quote, appointment and service purposes. They may have their own privacy obligations and may contact you directly.

7. Uploaded photos and files

Photos can help professionals assess a job, but uploaded photos may contain personal data. They might show people, addresses, belongings, documents, screens, financial information or other identifying details.

Please avoid uploading photos containing sensitive personal information, financial information, medical information, identity documents, children, or identifiable images of individuals unless it is necessary for the quote request.

8. Marketing communications

We will only send occasional offers, promotions or service updates by email if you choose to opt in. Marketing consent is optional and is stored separately from the required privacy acknowledgement.

You can withdraw marketing consent at any time by emailing hello@plumbingo.uk. Service messages about an active quote request are not marketing.

9. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies or similar storage for security, session management and form protection. Non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are only used if you consent through the cookie banner.

At the time this policy was updated, no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Google Ads or similar tracking script was detected in the website codebase. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

10. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary. Our default retention approach is:

  • Unsuccessful or general quote requests: up to 24 months.
  • Completed customer records where accounting, legal or service records are required: up to 6 years.
  • Marketing consent records: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, plus a reasonable suppression record where needed.

We may keep information for longer if required for legal claims, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

11. Security measures

We use practical security measures such as CSRF protection, rate limiting, restricted upload file types, upload size limits, sanitised filenames, protected storage folders and admin-only access to uploaded photos. No website can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to protect personal data using proportionate SME-level controls.

12. International transfers

We aim to use UK or EEA-based providers where practical. If personal data is transferred outside the UK, we will use appropriate safeguards where required, such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections.

13. Your UK GDPR rights

You may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data where legally possible.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing or non-essential cookies.
  • Request portability of data you provided to us, where applicable.

14. How to request access or deletion

Email hello@plumbingo.uk with the subject line "Data request". Please include enough information for us to identify your quote request, such as your name, email address and approximate submission date.

We may need to verify your identity before responding. If your data has already been shared with a contractor, we may need to tell you who received it or ask them to consider the request under their own legal responsibilities.

15. ICO complaint rights

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
